Beautiful design!

Like many folks the design is what caught my eye at first. I definitely like the retro look with a touch of modern class like the stainless steel handles. I also wanted to try a bottom freezer for the first time. That arrangement made sense for me and I liked that it is a swing door over a drawer. According to my two thermometers both compartments are spot on. It runs quietly. The doors shut differently though. Due to the refrigerator door's big storage area I think, it closes quickly and with some impact. However, the freezer door does not have that extra weight (not much storage there) so that door I feel needs a bit of attention upon closing, i.e., ensuring that the door has completely sealed. Also I needed to contact customer relations about a small issue (no repair, another matter) and I was truly impressed with their prompt and gracious response. I should also benefit from the refrigerator's Energy Star status, another plus. I'm extremely happy that I made this purchase and became a member of the GE family.

Love the design

Love the classic design and smooth gloss front. Easy to clean. I really like the handles. The freezer on the bottom works great for me, easier to organize. Roomy fridge, I can find whatever I need.

Runs constantly!

i received the GE Artisan series refrigerator just over three weeks ago. I had the doors switched from right opening to left opening. The freezer seal does not seal at all. All of my products are covered in a thick layer of frost from condensation freezing. The freezer/refrigerator is running nearly constantly. I will change my review once this issue is resolved.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I like the refrigerator overall but the freezer will only get down to +6 to +14 degrees. I even turned it up all the way to the #9 setting but it will eventually shut off at these numbers. I notified the supplier.

Such an attractive addition to my kitchen!

When I first saw this fridge I fell in love, it looked old-school, I liked the bottom freezer, and it was just the right size for my medium sized family. We brought it home a week later and while it did take a while to get to the temperature I wanted, to be fair we live in a tropical climate. After I adjusted the settings both the fridge and freezer compartments have been working just fine. The space is sufficient for a good amount of groceries, the freezer I would only criticize that the drawer should really be roll out for easier accessibility. But in all, a purchase I am happy I made, looks really elegant and has worked well so far. I trust in GE products and if this fridge lives up to the quality of the brand then I'm sure I will be satisfied with my purchase for a long time.

I bought this refrigerator because I liked the retro look and because my mother has a similar (but older model) GE refrigerator that works very well. It does the job of keeping food cold as it should, but that's about all it does. It's very noisy compared to other refrigerators I have had in the past. My kitchen is positioned relatively close to my living room and I find myself having to turn up the volume on my TV a notch when the fridge kicks on, granted I don't necessarily have the volume loud to begin with. It also seems to run quite often compared to my prior fridge, though I may be mistaken and only THINK that because I can distinctly hear this one as opposed to my other one. It's hard to compare electric bills to verify that.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Features and Looks

The fridge is nice and big. It fits a lot of food and we area family of 5. It is a shorter fridge which really helps with making sure it will fit under cabinets. Love the retro look but at the same time, it is modern and will go with any appliance that is either black or stainless steel.
