My Dream Refrigerator

I've been wanting a refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom for years and finally I bought one! So glad I did.

Does not reverse well

The hinge mounts for right hand opening (reversed) placed the gaskets about 1/8" out from the door frame. Since there is no adjustment, the refrigerator or door assemblies need to be replaced.
Reversing the door handles to the right side places the handle set screws at the center of door mounting point on the top instead of on the bottom. That hardly earns the moniker "artistry."
We'll see if the replacement refrigerator is any better.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I would never buy this model of refrigerator again! I had it replaced once. It didn't matter.

Works well, needs more drawers

We bought this fridge because we have very few choices given our space constraints. It works fine and holds a lot. It needs more built-in drawers, however. We've had to buy some containers of our own to divide the space up and drawers would just work better.

Awesome design! Basic features

I really wanted a certain design to fit my MCM kitchen. This fits the bill, and yet has modern energy savings.
It doesn't come with some of the bells and whistles that some fridges come with, like an ice cube maker, but I don't miss those at all.

The temperature control both for the freezer and nonfreezer sections is unacceptable. It has frozen lots of our food on multiple occasions even though we have it turned down to 2. The freezer may be working now wheras before it thawed everything out. Otherwise, we love the retro look and large space. We hope GE can fix the thermostat.

We like the fridge. Lost a little freezer space, but that's ok. 2 months in and a plastic piece broke off the freezer and now it pops open.

Like retro look

We bought the refrigerator for our old farmhouse for the retro look. The door is smooth and stylish and looks good. The handles are nice, too. It is relatively quiet. The freeze bin is not on wheels, so it is hard to pull out when fully loaded. The refrigerator storage bins are also sort of stubborn. Nice storage in the door. Overall, we are pleased.
