STILL FUNCTIONAL

It works fine so far. The one have is a refurbished so i don't know if in the near feature I may have to change it...

Have had this TV for nearly 10 years. Picture is clear as the first day. Made change to larger unit with smart features. This moved to another room in the house and is still in use.

Realistic Colors

this tv has excellent colors they are very realistic, the blues are blue the reds are red and the greens are green...some tv brands like sharp have unatural looking colors. i had one and got rid of it fast!. the sound is very very good on this tv.
Pros: very realistic colors, sound is way better than most
Cons: no headphone jack or audio output, the volume icon stinks !

The philips lcd hdtv is excellent accept for just a couple of annoying things i want to mention, one is the menu and the menu graphics, mostly the volume icon, its horrible! the menu itself is structured in a way that makes you go through bunches of other stuff instead of getting to what you want to do, but most of the tv's do that now from what ive seen. there is no headphone jack. and the worst of all i dont like is a strange thing in the picture,,, it happens when the picture is changing from one scene to another and its very very quick... when the picture scenes are changing there is a bunch of lines through the picture mostly at the edges of face outlines or heads of people or edges of anything in the picture that is changing... but it is not very noticeable and only happens with lower resolution pictures never on hi def shows or blu-rays. it is so slight that i decided to keep the tv because the picture is so good and the colors are excellent!... the blues are blue the greens are green and the reds are red not some washed out varied color of reds greens or blues. i had a sony and this tv at the same time but kept this one and took the sony back because this tv had more realistic color than the sony.
Pros: color accuracy, add a pro
Cons: no headphone jack, volume indicator icon

My overall rating is extremely good, but not excellent. When I opened the box, there were screws missing that would connect the television to the base which meant that I had to call to have some sent. This was very annoying because I thought and wanted to use the TV immediately. I could have stuck it on the base with one screw, but I waited in the abundance of caution. Once the screws arrived, set up was a piece of cake. The second problem I noticed is that you MUST view the screen from a slightly higher vantage point otherwise the image will appear darker. Assuming you watch from the higher position, the clearity and detail is extremely excellent
Pros: simplicity in set up, clearity and details in the screen
Cons: images are dark unless viewed correctly
