this printer/ copier etc has problems. I had an HP before which was good... still is except it fell on the floor and broke after 12 years.
The problem with this new device is the programming. It automatically uses colour ink to print black and white pics... which in my book means its not as efficient as it should be. When i query this its because that produces the best quality print. So I have to select the print using black ink only to get the economy they claim. Unfortunately that turns any colour items to black too....
Additionally some programmes (ACAD) included - I try to print A3 and the printer.... not the programme ... I have checked this out... clips about 20mm off the print... but only on A3. So I have to do a pdf first and then print that.
This product is not good.

Need A3 prints?

I have just replaced an HP 6500 wi-fi A4 printer for the Officejet 7500A model because i needed A3 . Price was reasonable and the printer only takes a little more space than the earlier printer. I was delighted that the printer cartridges are identical so that my buffer stock of 920 cartridges can continue to be used on the new printer. The latest wi-fi features are good and I like the idea of sending emails and attachments direct to the printer whilst away from my office. The instructions for set up are very easy and intuitive. Now the original HP 6500 printer is commissioned in another part of the house so that my wife can have independence of printing, safe in the knowledge that I have some spare cartridges in my stock cupboard.

Probably the best A3 A4 printer on the market and very good value for money the only problem I found was the Tel wire for the Fax side is far too short if like me the machine is a distance away from the telephone terminal you will need a longer lead other than that it's brilliant and had the lead been longer it would have had 5 stars. its ease of set up and print is good its wireless function is brilliant and works well, would advise anyone looking for this type of printer to buy this one the 7500A

Office Jet 7500A all in one

I bought this to replace my previous HP Office jet which "died" on my after several years of faithful service. I am pleased with the wireless capability as I can print from either my iMac or Macbook without the palava of changing over print cables as before. The print quality is good.
What is disappointing is the time it takes to print out even a small document. Whether this is because it is always printing wirelessly I don't know but the print speed overall is much worse than before.

I never did get the wireless feature working as the router I own assumes that it is the master and thus gives the key to remote devices.
So my new huge scanner printer copier is hard wired using an old cable I had spare in the draw.

My previous printer was an HP1260 A3 printer. It gave good service and speed with black print but was distinctly slower when using colours. It decided to have a smoke break in October, hence the purchase of this one. My new A7500 A is a lot faster and printing with colour is just as fast. I have not had the time to explore the other facilities yet but so far I am more than happy.
