HP Officejet 7500 E910 wide

Bought to replace previous ideal HP model that failed mechanically not long out of warranty and could not be repaired. I did not really need A3 often but the model I bought in emergency had it. Copying A3 is tacky. The ability to print wide is outweighed by the lack of duplex printing. Its designed for a duplexer but I cannot get one. It is very good value for its features. Printing many pages is fast but first page is incredibly slow. 6ml colour inks too small compared black.

Having read poor comments about this printer I had to add mine. This is a very good printer. I have had it for over a year and had no trouble with it. I have printed pleasing A3 photos. It works well with my 3 computers and my iPad and iPod Touch.

Known Issues

There is a known problem with this printer Check internet before buying. I have one just out of warranty, for no reason the printer stopped working. The screen on the printer just flashes. There is a problem internally and there is nothing you can do to fix it. Have had mine foe a couple of years very light usage. You have been warned!

I initially brought one for home and have had no problems with it all either connected or wirelessly. i use it fairly heavily for both A4 and A3 printing.
due to its flexibility and ease of use i have brought two others in work which have much heavier use and have performed well for nearly two years without any issues.

I bought this whilst doing Design at Uni, being able to print SRA3 pages at home was a god send.
The energy saving/sleep mode is a bit off, so disable that.
The print quality is good, and the ink is a fair price for the amount of prints itl do on a tank.
Ive printed every concievable stock through this from kitchen aluminium foil and tracing paper, to wall paper and 300gsm card stock. Never a jam, and always pretty good alignment.
One bug bear is that the mac drivers give the ability to print a much larger area, so I had to install a virtual mac on my PC to print some work.
The start up time isnt great, but what printer is? I just keep it on, and keep it under my ottoman bed, easy to get to and out of sight (its not a small printer - but its not sold as such).

Having used HP printers for the past 5 years I was reluctant to change make. However the HP6310 printers of which I have had three wore out very quickly after 12 months usage.
I decided to upgrade and bought the HP7500A Wide Format printer and so far so good. The only downside is that it is using rather a lot of black ink and I cannot believe that the large black cartridges print 1200 copies. I will monitor this very closely.
