Behind the boxing and labels: a nice surprice

Well I where lucky (lots of miles done around LA) to grab the first single sample of BR 3D LG. I was was waiting to try this model before to decide which BL 3D to buy. From the box the SAMSUNG was missing the approved logos for DLNA and the wi-fi type N plus the Roxio application VS the LG but after tested it I have found the SAMSUNG perfectly working with my DLNA server and my wi-fi N type router. The SAMSUNG tested have had better video/audio results and the proprietary apps is something I didn't want to miss for my family. The LG was also without the discrete audio 7.1 output, and this was important because my receiver is not hdmi. After I have tested both BR and verified that Roxio was the only missing bit, I have decided for the SAMSUNG. An important topic that helped my decision was that the only television at moment that convert 2D to 3D is the SAMSUNG and I wished to have the same brand to "talk" each other.

Great product... with a few flaws

I purchased this unit based on features, reviews, and the Samsung reputation. In most ways I'm extremely pleased with the product. It has fast response time, excellent picture quality, easy wi-fi connectivity, and great features. To date (just over a month) there have been only 2 things I have found problematic. One is the location of the on unit buttons. Placed at eye level or above, they are unusable. The other problem, easily fixable I assume with a software update, is that network streaming Microsoft Windows Media Center Win7 TV programs (.wtv files) are not supported. This seems silly, given that a primary reason to stream from a Windows 7 computer would be this DVR type functionality.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, easy set up
Cons: doesn't support .wtv file streaming
I would recommend this to a friend!

I've had this product for over 2 years now. The only problem that I would say is the buffer when streaming video online. I have high-speed internet with strong wifi connection, but buffer on the machine still remains an issue after a few firmware updates. Overall, I'm very pleased with the HD picture quality of my 3D blu-ray, blu-ray, and dvd disks. I've yet to experience any of the other issues that some have given 1-2 star ratings. Maybe they had a faulty product, but all I can say is that the player that I have, it's been wonderful.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, great picture quality for both blu-ray and dvd
