Great 3d player overall

Fantastic picture on Blu-Ray discs. You must be able to set your video(in menu wile playing) settings. On standard DVD it depends on the disk. Some disks have grainy artifacts compared to player I use on my Pc.
Can not get player to connect alshare with my pc.
Wireless N seems slow to me on VOD applications. Movies look great wile playing.
I think this player will give all other brands a run for their money.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Movin' on up... to a Blu-Ray from a DVD Player

This is a good product. I am still a little bugged by how long it takes to load a Blu-Ray disc. According to Samsung the player makes regular DVDs seem better than ever. I believe them! Then again everything looks better on my 55" 3D LED Samsung TV. (they make a great pair)

BDC-69000
on March 4, 2012

The BDC-6900 is overall and awsome product. The performance is great, it starts up fairly fast, has a great picture, nice touch controls, and more great features like streaming from Netflix, Vudu, Hulu, Pandora, FaceBook and more. The program for streaming from your personal computer is terrible though. I had to download Serviio to get a better menu and more functions. And the only other dislike is learning/controlling the menus for its main screen. Setup on these is a little confusing..umm a lot.. had it 1.5 years and still don't know how to move Netflix to the first spot on my menu. hehe Overall an awsome product though. Now if they would just build a BR player with built in HDD to record programs on tv.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, great looking, front usb, nice touch controls
Cons: unfriendly menus
I would recommend this to a friend!

full featured but one came broken and app id's confusing
on January 11, 2011
Posted by: foolthrottle
The player does what it's supposed to do very well.
But the first one came defective out of the box. None of the top buttons lit up or functioned. That's ironic, because those buttons shouldn't even exist up there - lousy placement. The top should never be functional.
Once I got one that works, it took 30 minutes to download the updates, download the apps, register the apps I wanted, etc. Also - the samsung app "account" or "ID" creation, login, and use is confusing even with the manual.
Also - the ability to share media from the PC should never require me to install software on my PC - that's unnecessary and lame.
Disc playback starts fast and it performs very well. Up-conversion from DVD is excellent. There are a ton of apps - netflix and pandora function beautifully.
Pros: full-featured
Cons: confusing app login accounts
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great features, Excellent performance, some quirks

I bought a refurbished one (full priced is expensive compared to competitors) with a Samsung 50" 720p 2D plasma TV, no home theatre system in this room. No issues with blu-ray or regular DVD's, though the difference between Blu-Ray and an upscaled DVD (with this BluRay player or with a Samsung DVD-R/VCR combination I have) with this TV is very subtle. Menus are well designed
Quirks:
1. Doesn't save the disk position when the player shuts off (and it shuts off automatically after a while, perhaps because of some energy saving mode). As a result, have to wade through non-skippable disk intros and find the scene I need. Possible I could bookmark but have to remember to do this and figure out how to get back to a bookmark.
2. Couldn't get it into setup mode, because it assumed TV was 1080P. This may be a refurbishing quirk, vs on new models. Eventually figured how to get output into automatic mode so I could see the screens!
3. Temporarily unusable audio with Pandora , which went away by itself, perhaps a Pandora problem since all other apps worked fine.
4. No Amazon VOD
5. Occasional stop/black screen/start when using Netflix. Not sure if this is a Netflix, wireless network interference or TV issue.
6. Google Maps App is so hard to use, almost unusable.
7. Not much choice and depth of apps except VOD, e.g. weather app pretty but not much detail avail like hour by hour forecasts
Pros: great features
Cons: some quirks

Amazing Video

Right out of the box the 6900 is a breeze to set up. I have it paired with a Samsung 55 inch LED TV. The player automatically connect to the TV when it is turned on via the AnyNet feature, so its ready to go with no source adjustments. The picture quality is "STUNNING" I was amazed by the clarity of the picture. The upgrading this player does for a DVD is amazing it is like watching a Blu-Ray quality movie. Adding surround sound makes the entire experience equal to having a movie theater in our home. I love the Pandora feature for music. The only downside to the streaming music feature would be having to leave the TV and Blu-Ray player on constantly to enjoy it. Overall, I would recommend these product to everyone. They are fantastic!

Did not work with Wi-Fi
on December 28, 2010

Does not work with Wi-Fi. Just about unusable with Netflix; would stop every 10-15 minutes when streaming movies. Same Wi-Fi router works effortlessly with my laptop, Ipad and Iphone as well as visitors hardware. Had to run 75 feet of LAN cable to allow streaming video, something I hoped to avoid with the supposed Wi-Fi capability!
Pros: Realistic color
Cons: Did not meet expectations, wi-fi ng
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
