Excelent picture, operational features need work

I have owned this 3D player less than a month, and for the first few weeks used it with my HD Glass Screen TV until my 3D TV and receiver was delivered from back order.
I've found that the picture is outstanding in both 3D mode and standard 2D Blu Ray mode. Also my standard DVD collection looks wonderful when played on this player. So I give it 5 out of 5 stars for picture quality, and reproduction of source material.
That said, I am a little disappointed in some of the operational features of the player and that is why the 3 star rating. It may be good for some people but I was looking for better software design there.
First of all, STOP does not stop and resume when you press play STOP once. I have found that it stops and goes back to the point where you have inserted a new disc in the machine. I am used with my old progressive scan player to be able to press STOP once, turn the machine off or remove the disc, then reinsert the disc and press play and resume and the point of stop. It works for some discs but not others. Most players have a memory stack that remembers a number of discs you have played and goes back to the point where you stopped, unless you have pressed STOP STOP which clears that disc from memory.
My other issue is with fast forward Fast Forward is not very fast. Perhaps X2. It should be at least X4. I would recommend a stepped fast forward, X2, X4 and X8 or possibly X10, (then back to X2 on the next step). Even though you can go to new chapter if they are long it takes too much time to FF to where you want to be. If you are searching a movie and it is 2 hours long you are going to be a long time looking for the scene you want. The same feature should also work with "fast back".
Last, I do not see a slow motion back. There is slow forward but not slow back. If you are going slow forward to look for something, and go past it, you have to play forward and "fast back" to it and then slow forward again.
I hope that some or all of these software features can be addressed in a firmware download. I'm not hooked to a wireless link yet but hope to be in a month or so and maybe some of these issues will be addressed.

Poor wireless connectivity

Picture fine. But, after two long waits for my FIOS person and one long wait for Samsung, I was unable to get wireless connection, although my laptop and TIVO connections worked from the same spot. I am retuning it tomorrow.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

love this bluray player load time is fast. like the apps. love the 3D. have other bluray players load time is much slower.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Lightweight

This is the most amazing product teamed with my 55" Samsung LED 3D TV, and the Samsung Soundbar i'm still in awe!!!!!! The 3D blu-ray player has amazing picture quality and I really feel it's better quality than the theaters and my DVD's look amazing as well!!! I wasn't sure how it would work, if all I had heard was going to be true? But it's even better than I thought it would be. I'm so glad I waited until the Samsung 3D products came out because I would recommend them to everyone!!!! I think the quality is unbeatable!!!!!!!

Great player, excellent features, and fast

The player has very quick response times. The web interface and connection is simple and easy to use. The player works well with other media found on the network. A little pricey for the features, but an excellent player all media.
Pros: Lightweight, low profile, network media share, simple user interface
Cons: expensive

After 60 days it would no longer recognize any disc, new or otherwise. Sent back for service. Rather surprised to find out that the labor warranty on labor is only good for 90 days. Parts is a year.
Cons: Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I really am happy with my 3D blu-ray player. I use the wifi feature to watch movies on net flix but I never get to watch the movie without interuptions for it to buffer even though I have "High speed cable" service. I am disappointed that the movies that have been produced in 3D aren't available in 3D but are available in dvd and blu-ray formats.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color

This thing will only play a video, DVD, or Blu-Ray disc if it feels like it. Many will not play. Very hard to connect to the internet, no matter how simple your router is. Very difficult to input information that seem to be needed every time the player is used. Very long update time - hours - and it seems to need updating once a week. Almost every app doesn't work right and the player makes you enter long and difficult to enter paswords just to make simple changes in apps and settings. Way overpriced for the actual features that do work. Simple apps like netflix take several minutes to load and the internet connectivity is always - and I do mean ALWAYS - a problem.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, difficult to use, features do not work, does not play many discs
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
