My BD-C6900 Blue Ray 3-D player is a great product and has stunning color and picture quality on my new UN55C7000 LED 3-D Television. I'm pleased on my purchase except for it's hard to navigate through the menu. Overall, You have a great stunning bright clear 3-D product. All of the other features are great like BD-Live, Samsung Apps, and wireless technology are a blessing. Samsung 3-DTV's and 3-D Blue Ray DVD players are coming alive !

Mixed Feelings

I was in the market to upgrade my Samsung DVD player to a Blu-ray and decided to take it one step further and go for 3D and network capabilities. The player had no problem finding my network and connecting. The setup and firmware upgrades were accomplished without any issues. Loading and playback of DVD's was fast. Then I tried streaming videos and where I ran into issues, thus the reason for not rating this player higher. If you did your research and eventually bought this blu-ray, then having the capabilities of a built-in network card and streaming video were important factors in your decision. Then like me, you too would also expect them to work and perform without any issues.
After reading reviews on other sites, I see I'm not the only one losing my mind trying to figure out what is wrong with the built in network card. Using the player's network speed test option, I could only (once in a while) get reported network speeds of 2-3 Mbps, while my laptop detected the same wireless network with speeds of 20-25Mbps. Most of the time the player registered only 200-350kbps! It didn't matter if I set the system up as wireless or wired, the results were unfortunately the same. It would seem logical that the player would report the same speeds seen by my wireless laptop or my desktop wired direct to my router. (I'm using a Linksys WRT160N v-3 router with the latest firmware). I contacted Samsung and was finally put in contact with Level 2 Tech support about the unit's slow detected network speeds. Samsung reps also felt the player should be seeing the same network speeds and thought the player's network card was defective. I returned the first unit and received the replacement and ran the same type tests on the second player. It didn't take long to realize it too had the same problem. Netflix recommends speeds of at least 5Mbps to allow uninterrupted viewing of instant movies. At the speeds the player is working online, it is virtually impossible to watch a movie due to the constant stopping to buffer a movie. There have been two Internet and two firmware updates since I received the new player two weeks ago. Neither has improved the situation for online use. Oh and by the way, due to the extremely slow network response of this player, VUDU didn't work any better, so it is not just a Netflix issue. Samsung needs to find a fix fast either through firmware or network card upgrades. Other than this irritant, the player is easy to setup and works wonderfully with my newly acquired receiver. I hope someone at Samsung actually reads these reviews and realizes an issue is brewing and needs attention.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, network performance

Gorgeous Technical Wonder

Although the cost is a bit much for any blu-ray player these days, this unit is sleek and powerful. I am blown away by the quality that it delivers on movies and sound. It is fully capable to unleash precision quality. I purchased a top of the line 58 inch 8 series TV at the same time as this player and have never seen such a gorgeous picture! The 3D capabilities make this stand apart from other players.

Streaming video
on November 3, 2010

The streaming ability leaves a lot to be desired. We have stopped watching every movie because of the numerous stops and reloads. And I do mean numerous. Thought it would work better than the first one we bought but that's not the case. Both have performed poorly.
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations

Great Picture, but Problems Galore

I hate to say it, but aside from the picture quality, which is excellent, I'm extremely disappointed with my Samsung BD-C6900 Blu-ray player. I've had it for 7 months and I haven't been able to watch a single DVD or Blu-ray disc all the way through. Playback stops suddenly, sometimes several times during the same movie. Often, but not always, the player is unable to return to the point where it stopped and it becomes necessary to start the viewing process all over, searching through scenes to get back to the stopping point. Further, the player resets itself once every week or two, requiring that I go through a complete "initial setup" every time, reconnecting to my home network, re-registering internet services, etc. Finally, the 3D effect is minimal (using the Samsung glasses and watching on my Samsung 3D LED TV) and definitely not worth the money. Considering the small number of 3D titles available, I consider the extra cost for 3D capability a waste at this time. Product menus are difficult to navigate. Samsung's website is one of the most inconsistent I have ever tried to use. All in all, not a great first experience for me with Samsung. I'm not angry, but I seriously doubt I will ever buy another Samsung product.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

good idea - bad implementation

I bought this unit to provide all my video services (blu-ray, dvd, netflix, dlna). However the netflix streaming loses audio sync badly (sound coming up to 5 seconds after after). DLNA streaming doesn't work reliably either. Many of the Internet@TV apps crash.
I won't be considering Samsung for my upcoming TV upgrade if these problems aren't fixed real soon with firmware updates.
