I have had this coffee maker for about a month now. I was using a french press prior to this, but I needed something with larger capacity. My main reasons for purchasing this model were the 14 cup carafe and the bold setting. I like that the controls are easy to use, and that this model has three temperature settings for the warmer plate. I have also found the 1-4 cup setting to be nice for the days I am only making coffee for myself. I have found that the included mesh filter basket has prevented almost all sediment from transferring into the carafe, so I have not found the need for a paper filter.

This was a gift. Had it for a month and suddenly one morning there was water all over the counter top under the coffeemaker. All the water drained out of the resevoir of the coffeemaker due to the hoses inside rupturing as was the cause of 6-7 other appliances of same model # losing water. Will never buy another Cuisinart product; have had too many coffeemakers go south.

The 14 cup capacity is deceiving as the capacity for the filter cone is limited to 75 grams (per manual and actual to prevent ground overflow) at a standard 1:16 coffee to water ratio 75g coffee is 1200g water or 40.5oz (7-6oz cups) nowhere near 14 cups.

This is at least our 6th Cuisinart Coffeemaker. The last one lasted four years. This new one lacks the setting that lets you keep it on for up to four hours. With this one it's two hours. Bring back the feature, please. Also, make it so that the hot plate and other components can be replaced and keep the unit out of the landfill.
