[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The coffee maker works great. The heating plate gets scratched every time I take the carafe out. The warranty dept says that’s “normal wear”.

To help minimize scratching, make sure the carafe is lifted straight up and positioned carefully on the warming plate, and periodically clean both the carafe bottom and heating plate to remove any residue that could contribute to surface marks. Thought our electric recept was bad, so we moved coffee maker to other side of counter. Turns out it is the coffee maker. Can’t keep it plugged in (which is a problem because of the clock) we have to unplug each time or unplug, plug in to make coffee.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If the unit only works after being unplugged and plugged back in, try resetting it by unplugging it for several minutes, ensuring the water reservoir and carafe are properly seated, and plugging it directly into a wall outlet rather than a power strip or GFCI-protected outlet.
