Coffee pot is a brand new model. The 14 cup is great option given large size of our coffee mugs. No splatter or only very little when carafe is removed to pour during the brewing process. Beware= do not overfill filter with coffee grounds or you will have a huge mess! I like the beeping feature at completion of brewing and at the time of auto shutoff. Received as a gift. Added a slider.

After almost a year of daily or more use the coffee maker is still working great. The preset options are easy to use. The coffee itself is brewed nicely. The carafe did crack along the bottom seam recently, but as it was still under warranty Cuisinart replaced it promptly for free. My other negative is the carafe will dribble water down the side of the pot when filling the water tank if the you pour too quickly or if the carafe is very full like when intending on making a full pot of coffee. It creates a little bit of a mess that could otherwise be avoided with a better design. Overall though, I am very happy with the performance of the coffee maker.
