overall a good machine with one fault in my opinion. The unhinged plastic top of the coffee pot itself constantly becomes separated from the pot. very annoying and is poorly designed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Provides a consistent brew. Coffee is hot and remains that way. If you are a slow drinker, I would recommend using the lowest heatplate setting. Cleanup is simple. My one complaint is that the reservoir sight gauge is located only on the right side of the machine, requiring a 90-degree rotation for proper filling.

This would be a 5 star coffee if it weren't for two items:
#1. We get cowboy coffee (grinds in the pot) with a 12-cup pot. No way I am trying to brew a 14 cup pot in this machine.
#2. That damnable steel plate on the bottom that will rust out in a few years - just like our last two.
