14 cups is based on 5oz cup not 6oz. Filter overflows with 14 cup and 100gm of coffee. In order to avoid a mess, I have to restrict to 12 cups and 80gm of coffee. This capacity turned out not to be much of an improvement over my Bonavita which is 8 cup based on 6oz cup. This maker is much more difficult to keep clean.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Looks great, works nice. The only thing I can say is that the beeping when the coffee is done sounds like a dump truck backing up! Not a sound you want to hear in the early morning when you get up. Perhaps change that sound to a more pleasant beep.

Makes coffee very hot so you get full flavor. It is also 14 cup which means less making more drinking coffee. So far no problems with it! Best coffee maker we have owned in a long time.

No quite a year ago we had to replace our existing 14 Cup Cuisinart programmable coffee maker and many years of everyday wonderfully brewed coffee. Unfortunately the replacement, under warranty, was replaced with a unit that constantly "clicked/ticked" after the coffee was finished brewing. Annoying! It was graciously replaced with a second unit which within several days exhibited the same noises. Once again that unit was replaced by Cuisinart and now after 10 days appears to be performing well. While its appreciated that the Cuisinart was honorable I think that should this occur again we'll probably write them off as a source.

I have owned a few coffee makers in the last 10 years. Overall this is a very good coffeemaker. I love the 14 cup pot. It makes some puffing and clicking noises for a while after it brews, but that is the only negative.
