It’s be making great coffee with paper and reusable filters. I love that I can turn the alarm off! Not sure about the detached carafe lid design, but I’m getting used to it.

I was very excited about this product until I found out that there is design deficiency where the water comes from the reservoir to the coffee basket. The first unit I purchased worked for a couple of days and then it started to leak really bad that resulted in water on the sink that flowed on to the kitchen floor. I did get a replacement coffee maker and that one too started leaking after a couple of times using it. The problem is where the intake tube goes to the overhead drip assembly. Before the water gets to the overhead drip, it starts leaking at the hinged tube part.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A solid contender in the basic coffemaker arena. I can attest without a doubt it, when you're looking to make a great cup coffee, this is my first option. This is a replacement to an older model. Cuisnart is the leader is coffee makers for residential use and I highly recommend this model.
