This is a really good premium coffee maker, we have used previous models that look very similar and have enjoyed them for years. This one has a weak filter basket “click” or snap designed to hold the filter basket down against the top of the pot and open the valve at the bottom of the basket. We have to be extra careful to ensure it is pushed down tightly to avoid a flood over the top of the basket.

We recently purchased another coffee maker that cost more than this but were extremely disappointed. We have had this model in the past and it is easy to program and can keep coffee hot for up to 4 hours. Since being retired means we often are enjoying an extra cup long past the first cup of the day, this is the best feature for us.

I had a Cuisinart coffee maker pretty much like this one years ago that I fell for the convenience of the Keurig one cup machine and found that the taste of my coffee was not nearly as good. So I have come back to my Cuisinart for better tasting coffee. Less convenient but better taste. Love I can program it too as I couldn't with my Keurig.
