Have had the modem a short time. Had some issues getting it provisioned, but that seems to be straightened out. I feel like there is a lack of diagnostics and information. As far as I can tell, there is no way to find out what speed your provider is connecting at (speed tests are all over the place). This is the only product approved for Xfinity provide your own modem for 1G service. Time will tell...
ISP provides over 1gb speeds. I upgraded to this modem and it is awesome. Super fast and the setup was a breeze. Followed the included instructions and was up and running in 10 minutes. Netgear has done it again with a great modem allowing me to save money and not rent one from ISP.
We have Comcast/Xfinity and upgraded from their up to 300 mbps limited data package to their up to 1000 mbps unlimited data package. Our old modem and router could not support the faster speeds and I didn’t want to bother with researching new modems/routers, so we went with their all-in-one Gateway device (rented). We had issues from day one with the internet going out multiple times per week, sometimes for just a few minutes, sometimes longer. We also could no longer get a good signal in our basement or in one area on the top floor. We had never had this issue with our old Netgear modem & router. Comcast was never able to fix it and even told us nothing was wrong. I finally had enough and bought this modem along with the NETGEAR, I shed note I am using this with AX6000 WiFi Router (RAX120)
so far so good. had some challenges getting xfiniti to register/set it up right. make sure you give them both the MAC and TMAC addresses. the TMAC address was not on the box. had to pull it off the bottom. once all that got straight everything has been working well.
Modem works well and is capable of delivering true gig speeds well beyond the tier u pay for provided that your ISP provisions it correctly and pushes the correct firmware to your modem.
