I use xfinity and still have a land line, so I didn't have much choice as far as models. Xfinity had to send a tech out to activate it due to an error on Xfinity's side, but once activated, it has been working well. There is a slight speed improvement from my old modem that was docsis 3.0, but it's hardly noticeable for me.
I just installed this unit after running a cv7100v for many years. Configuration and registartion was easy, and the new unit allowed an instant speed uprgade with comcast. I expect this one to be good for a while too come. Keep up the good work making these types of products.
Easy setup with Xfinity. Took maybe a total of 10 minutes. Using the Xfinity app to activate the modem is the fastest way. The Nighthawk is super fast and it puts out an actual working IPv6 addresses. My last modem didn’t. This will last for many years. Also, backwards compatible with lower tier internet speed plans. Best modem with voice you can get for Xfinity. Highly recommended.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have found that the NETGEAR Nighthawk 2.5GbpsInternet Speed Cable Modem w/ Voice (CM2050V) has been very stable yet there are times that it could render faster connection speeds. Other than that it is great.
Easier to install than expected and has worked great since. Able to install just interacting with the Comcast Xfinity website - did not have to call and talk to anyone. Somewhere in the process a step did not “take” and had to be repeated, but otherwise it was not difficult or frustrating. Would buy again.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My old modem worked but didn’t realize it maxed out it’s download muscle. Upgrading to the CM2050V I found download nirvana. Technology at it’s finest .
We were looking to buy our own cable modem to eliminate the monthly rental fee. We needed one that would handle the 1.2 GPBS service and have a landline phone connection. This was listed on the Xfinity site as being compatible and meeting our requirements.
It was simple to swap out our old modem/router and replace it with this and a separate router. The instructions were easy to follow and everything was up and running in a relatively short time. So far, we're very happy with the speed and reliability.
