[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our old wall unit no longer was able to keep the room cool so we decided to get a window unit to replace it just in time for a heat wave ! So glad we did another heat wave this week !!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had a similar Frigidaire air conditioner which had lasted us 11 years. When it became apparent that its time had come, what else could we do but go out and purchase another 5000 btu air conditioner? And we are now both as happy as a clam!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I built a 12x20 workshop and put in insulation and drywall, and a small window in the rear. This unit cools the shop and does not make a lot of noise. I like the simple controls. I've been using it for three months, no issues at all.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Starts with only a small increase wattage over it’s normal power to run, unlike many competitor’s unit of same size.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This model was recommended by New York Magazine as "best (low priced) window air conditioner" in 2021. It can turn a 150 square foot bedroom into a refrigerator at maximum settings. Old school design, with no frills, so hopefully it will last for a while like older appliances tended to do.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had this air conditioner for about a month now. So far so good. I bought it because it’s small enough to fit in my kitchen window. I have an old house with the old style rope windows. I had to remove the shade brackets (above the rope wheel) to get the window to go up high enough, even with this smaller air conditioner. That’s because I have storm windows that are more than an inch higher than the main window base. This air conditioner fit perfectly. I just had to add wood underneath to make up the height difference. And it worked out great that it’s a Frigidaire! I have a 6000 BTU Frigidaire air conditioner in my bedroom, which I’ve been using for several years, that I love. And now I have this 5000 BTU one in my kitchen. Between the two of them my 1,200 square foot house is staying much cooler! And that is really a blessing with this hot weather we’ve been having in the Pacific Northwest! I turn them on and off manually during the day...and off at night. And also use fans. But they can also be set to maintain a comfortable temperature, and go on and off automatically. It was a great buy, especially for the price. And the lighter weight made it easier to lift and install!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this for 3wks now, with the heat in the low 90s during the day and upper 70s at night my bedroom is so cold I had to turn it down.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son gifted me this unit after a short stay from out of town to attend a friend's wedding. After an unseasonable early heat wave in my region, at worst, the interior of my home reached 104°! It's been much, much cooler since!
