Drive is great. My only issue I've had is the on/off switch located in the back. The design is not great and it take more than a little effort to slide it from off to on and vise versa. I have not used it yet to burn any disks but will do so in the near future. Drive is a little big, but looks good on the desktop.
Worked well for a while. Not sure why but am getting many Nonrecognition of disc errors. May be windows updates not sure.

Dear Ftalbert,
We do understand the inconvenience this may have caused if you suddenly started experiencing disc errors.
The error message can possibly be related to a Windows update. If a recent update was installed, you can try to do a System Restore in order to revert the system to the last known good configuration when the optical drive was working properly, or update the DVD software you are using.

I love this unit. I can now write to my Blu-ray dual layer 50 GB and 100 GB disks, I have had a slight problem when using the Powertogo8-bundled software only when I have data verification enabled, however If I turn this off it is not detrimental to my copy. I will always buy ASUS brand equipment as I have such great experiences with using their equipment. Never had to return or ask for repair for anything that i can recall. Thanks ASUS..
Laser burned out after only 10 months...piece of garbage!!! I usually burn 1 blu-ray everyday at 4x speed on a BD50 but after 10 months it would burn BD25..threw it out and bought a better one...
