Excellent machine

I bought this heater/cooler for my father who is 92 years old. This is a great machine for heat as I do not like the rest of the house as hot as he prefers. I have this machine in his bedroom and is superb. My father is nice and toasty while watching his tv programs and does not affect other parts of the house as I do not like the temperature in the rest of the house as hot. The heater will shut down when the desired temperature is reached thus saving energy. This machine is safe to use. Great innovation Dyson!

cutting edge design

I purchased this heater a bit apprehensive with the price, but decided to give Dyson a try. It is as functional and smart as it is stylish. It is very quiet and smooth running. I like the fact that the heating element is concealed from touch or view and there is no burning order.
Very satisfied with my purchase.

Does what it says it will do

I'm pleased with this unit so far. I've owned it for two weeks in the dead of winter in the north east. It's okay at heating, but truthfully the air could *feel* warmer coming out. It is a dyson so we will see how it does over the long haul.

Christmas gift from our son

Our son bought us this AM09 Fan Heater for our bedroom that get extremely cold in the winter and very hot in the summer. It look too small and our bedroom is very large with high ceiling. I thought, "How is this little thing going to heat our bedroom?" My husband was a little sceptical also but he told me that if our Dyson vacuum cleaner works great, then this should too.
Needless to say my son and husband were both correct! This little engine that could, did!! Our bedroom is so warm and cozy because of our new AM09 Fan Heater! The noise is incredible quite, the feature of keeping a particular temperature in our bedroom is perfect! My husband and I are over 70 years old, I have Parkinson's Disease so our quality of life is very important to us. Gratefully, our son bought us this product and now my husband and I are loving it! Thank you Dyson for making such a grand heater!

For use in room with little insulation

Using heat feature now. Very quiet machine. Have been keeping it on 24/7. After setting the desired temperature, the heater goes off and on as needed. By keeping this room evenly heated and warmer, the whole house is definitely staying warmer. It takes more energy usage to have extreme temperature differences in a home because the walls, furniture, etc. absorb the cold in winter (or the reverse in summer.) You are not just having to heat the air but everything else as well. I have the heater set at a consistent temperature and on diffused mode so it is not necessary to run it at full blast. Previous to using the AM09 Fan Heater, this room was so cold in the winter that I had to wrap up in blankets and couldn't make good use of the room.
Note: the room is about 11' x 15'. I've only had the fan a couple of weeks so do not know how it will affect the electric bill or hopefully a lower gas bill.
I am thinking the AM09 Fan Heater will be an advantage in the hot summer using the fan option in the same room.

Live in the Northern part of the country. The heater does a excellent job of getting the chill out of room and maintaining it. I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet the product is and how quickly it can warm up a room.
