Great fan - hot or cold. Safer, sleeker, & slightly quieter than regular bladed fans. Remote control is very convenient but needs to be pointed directly at fan. Only issue is that it reduces the brightness of my lights when turned on. Purchased in August 2016.
I have a dyson dust buster and it is like having a powerful hand held vacuum. That is why I decided to buy the dyson fan heater. And as it turns out, it is a great little heater.
Yes, we LOVE this heater!!! So much so that we named it! Little D replaced two less expensive space heaters which had developed faulty thermostats and had been only minimally satisfactory, at best. Little D works tirelessly and quietly to keep our beloved mostly glass sun room comfortably warm and actually maintains an even temperature!!! This room is hexagonal (5 sides of which are floor-to-ceiling glass), approximately 300 sq. ft. with 14 foot vaulted ceiling. As you can see, this is no small assignment for our new heater. We are definitely happy customers!!! We especially like the features of the programmable thermostat, the oscillator, and the handy storage for the remote control. And, the compact, attractive design is also a plus. Dyson never fails to provide quality and function. Thank you, Dyson!
We originally had the AM 04 that we have used 270+ days a year for 4+ years while full time RVing. We use the heater in the daytime / evenings when the outside temp. dropped down below 40 to 60 and it would do a fantastic job of keeping us warm. We also used the fan mode to move air while the air conditioning was running or just the fan to cool us off if not to hot. It has a small foot print which makes it perfect for small living places like RVs but it moved plenty of air. Well I was online and saw Dyson had a recall on our treasured heater / fan so I called them and they told me they would replace it with the AM 09 so I took it to UPS which was prepaid and sadly sent it back. It took about 13 days and a few chilly mornings and nights and the Fed Ex truck pulled up with the replacement. I unpacked it and set it up. What a surprise it moves more air and does a much better job circulating it about the room. One thing I have done for a long time is I cut a pair of women's black nylons and I slide them over the heater to cover the air intake making sure only 1 layer of nylon is over the air intake. As the nylons accumulate dust (that's why I used black its easier to see the dust)I move it to a clean section 3 to 4 times then take it off and wash it. and reuse. Dyson stands behind their products we have even owned one of their vacuums that we bought in the early 90s our son now uses it. It doesn't fit in our motor home when we get extra money we will buy the cordless vac.
