This product is a downgrade

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this A17 model last month with the impression it would be an improvement from the A16, but i was disappointed. The phone is super slow to restart and then non responsive to open apps. Keep in mind, new phone and barely has any memory used. I use the phone for work and it will not keep up with texting or entering info on the qwerty keyboard. I will never buy another A series phone again.

Awesome phone that lags at times

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose this device as a upgrade from my old device and I love the color enhancement as well as the features on it. The only thing I didn't like is the lagging during multitasking as well as the restarting of apps when I close them for even less then a second.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G, after my last Galaxy gave out on me after 7 years. I wanted the Fold but couldn't afford it yet so the A17 is what I went with. So far it's been a great phone. A few new features I've enjoyed and I've discovered many others I've yet to learn to use yet.

A17 and A Series phones.
on August 10, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose Samsung again when I needed a phone. I had an A15. It was so reliable I got the A17 this time. It has worked flawlessly. I use it for everything, calendar., games, email, videos, music etc. Battery life is still great. I know the Samsung A Series is the eco model, but having owned many phone brands over the years, I see no real advantage to spending big bucks on fancy handsets! The next phone I get will be Samsung for sure.

Not my first Samsung Phone
on August 10, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose this phone when it was time for me to replace a different brand phone. I have had Samsung phones in the past and was confident buying another. I am not enjoying this particular phone as much as I have others. In particular the battery capacity is much less. The most concerning and frustrating problem that I have been experiencing is the phone randomly creating and sending non sensical texts as well as making phone calls.
I have been a very content and loyal Samsung customer having purchased phones, appliances and TVs over the years. Going forward after this phone purchase sadly I will seriously consider another brand.

Greetings Samsung4Me,

Thank you for being a loyal Samsung customer and for sharing your experience with the Galaxy A17 5G. We appreciate your feedback on its spacious display, 5G connectivity, and long-lasting battery, all designed to support your communication and entertainment needs throughout the day.

We understand how frustrating it can be to experience reduced battery performance or unintended calls and messages, especially after years of positive experiences with Samsung products. This feature efficiently removes unnecessary items from memory, deletes unwanted files, scans for malware, and shuts down background apps.

Optimizing your phone is quick and easy. To do so, go to Settings, swipe to find Device Care, tap on Optimize Now, and then hit Done. For more information on keeping your device running smoothly, please see the link below. Your detailed feedback is invaluable as Samsung continues to improve the Galaxy experience.

Worst galaxy ever
on August 10, 2026

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The UI constantly crashes. It's super slow.
By far the worst galaxy device I've ever owned. I went back to the A16 just so I have a phone that works. It needs to be recalled and redone. Im not the only one having issues with the A17 5g.

Hello Jem2319,

Thank you for sharing your experience with the Galaxy A17 5G. Its large display, 5G connectivity, and reliable battery are designed to support everyday use effortlessly. We understand how frustrating frequent UI crashes and slow performance can be, especially when you find yourself reverting to your previous Galaxy device.

If you’re having trouble with unresponsive apps, consider giving them a good spring cleaning. You don’t need to uninstall the app or reset your phone or tablet; instead, simply clear the app's cache or data. This action will remove any problematic files or bugs within the app.

You can also use your device’s Device Care features to limit background apps and extend your battery life. Clearing the app cache acts like a cleanse for your apps, eliminating residual files that may be slowing them down. Here’s how to do it:

1. Open **Settings**.
2. Swipe to and tap **Apps**.
3. Select or search for the app you want to clear.
4. Tap **Storage**, and then tap **Clear cache**.

If you need additional help managing your phone or tablet’s storage, memory, and app usage, use the Device Care feature. It can scan your apps for crashes, close background apps, and check for malware with just a tap!

To learn more about how to resolve UI crashes and improve app responsiveness, check out the article linked below. Your feedback is valuable as Samsung continues to enhance the Galaxy experience.
