I had one for a few years and made at least a loaf once a week, sometimes twice. When it broke, I bought and loaf of store-bought bread, YUCK!

So Far, So Good

This machine is a replacement for the one given me as a birthday present. I liked that machine but it had a flaw which prevented the kneading paddle from being removed from the spindle in the bread pan. I have unpackaged the replacement and washed parts according to the instructions. The kneading paddle in this machine so far can be easily removed from its spindle so I have high hopes for successful bread making. I liked the original machine and the bread (French) it made but because the paddle could not be removed, it was unusable.

A Serious Design Flaw

I received the bread maker as a birthday gift a week ago. I have read the instruction booklet carefully several times and was careful to insert the kneading paddle into the bread pan. I was unable to remove my first loaf of bread without a lot of difficulty despite using a plastic spatula to loosen it because the bread had baked around the paddle which would not release from the pan. Once I finally removed the loaf by tearing it off the paddle I soaked the bread pan and repeatedly tried to remove the paddled. I had the same issue with the second loaf and practically had to destroy the loaf to extract it. I have tried every suggestion in the instruction manual for removing the paddle with no success. I like the flavor and texture of the bread the machine makes but if the paddle cannot be dislodged the convenience and usefulness of the machine is completely defeated.
