Great machine for the price. Easy to use. Works well. Love the thread cutter feature and needle thread feature! It's a bit noisy is my only complaint. Would recommend this machine to others.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We are happy to hear that you are enjoying your Singer Heavy Duty model 6800C sewing machine. Thank you for the 5-stars and for taking the time to write your review and share your experience with other shoppers. We greatly appreciate it.
A bit lighter than I'm used to, but love the way it stitches over bulky seams. I use it for making quilts and ordered the extension table that goes with it. Using that when quilting tends to stabilize and keep the machine from moving around as much. I really like the variety of fancy stitches available. Am very happy with it.
The tension is a little finicky but it seems to sew well otherwise.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this machine three weeks ago. I sewed one item on it, and decided to repair my 20 year old Husqvarna rather than continue with the Singer. The maximum stitch length is a measly 4.5mm for a handful of stitches, and a tiny 3mm for the majority. My old machine is 6mm for all stitches. The feed dogs are placed too far back on the foot to effectively start at the edge of the fabric. The free arm doesn't have enough space underneath for fabric to pass freely. Also, the "high speed" is limited to a handful of stitches. Most stitches max out at a much lower speed.
This is a decent machine for the price, and a good machine for newer sewists. But if you're used to a higher-end machine like I am, this is not a good substitute.

Learned to sew on my Mother's machine ( I have her last machine and it's still works). First one I bought was a Singer, passed it one to family and got another. This is my first "new" style machine and I'm still learning. So far my impression has been good.
This machine is very smooth and I love the larger throat space. It has plenty of decorative stitches. It is easy to use. The reason for four stars not five, is that the 'free arm', is not really free. There is a bottom, that does not come off with the removable piece. It does make sewing some things like cuffs and small armholes tough.
