I bought this unit for its ability to play 60fps 4K videos and it does that very well. Aso it is fast and responsive... But, I wish it could adjust closed captions, both color, font and size that would override content *all the time* like an Apple 4K TV does. The settings work for some content and not others that only show subtitles as delivered by source or streaming app. I also wish the app menu was not so scrunched up into three rows only and not stretched out wider so all the most used apps can be seen on one screen without scrolling up and down, still one can get used to that easily...

Very confusing home page ..not REALLY "live" TV

Purchased a couple of weeks ago in my attempt to cut the cable (yea!). Am still very confused about the home page. The "live" tv is really just reruns of old stuff...if I want to watch the current "American Idol" as an example, I will have to figure out what other streaming app carries it and pay for that. The home page seems to be same channels different categories.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If you’re looking to access over-the-air Live TV channels, you can add an antenna to your TV and enhance the options available in the Live TV guide. Additionally, the latest season of American Idol may only be available on Premium Channels and require a subscription for streaming. When you search for American Idol on your TV, your Roku will showcase different ways to watch. We hope this will help you enjoy your new player.

We’ve had Roku sticks in our camper and on other TV’s. Figured why not buy it built in. Color and size as well as price point was good for us.
