Brought this Roku Ultra to replace a 3+ year old one that had overheating errors. The new unit is much faster booting and all other functions. It runs cooler than the older one. Setup was easier than on the original unit. I am very satisfied with Roku products.
This works really good instead of the overheating of the stick behind my Samsung TV. I’m really thankful for the replacement remote after I stupidly dropped it in an epson bath for my feet. It was right after I got the new one too. Thank you, thank you, and thank you!!
Had about a month now satisfied with everything except I can’t get my Roku remote to work with my Samsung TV Will not turn it on and off and does not control the volume. I called customer support and they stepped me through process but still couldn’t get it to work. They recommended a new remote and that still didn’t work. Would have given it a 5 star if not for that issue.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hi there, thank you for reaching out. We’re happy to hear that you’re enjoying the product overall, and we want to ensure you can use it to its full potential. While Roku remotes are designed to support a wide range of TV brands, there are some limitations. If you’re still unable to control your Samsung TV’s power and volume, here are a few advanced troubleshooting tips:
First, make sure HDMI-CEC is enabled on your TV (Samsung calls it “Anynet+”). This setting is essential for your Roku remote to communicate with your TV. You can enable it by going to Settings > General > External Device Manager > Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) on your Samsung TV.
Second, if any devices, such as an AVR or soundbar, are connected between your Roku player and the TV, try temporarily removing them to ensure they aren’t causing interference. Also, check for any obstructions between the Roku remote and your TV’s IR sensor, as a direct line of sight is needed to control volume.
Finally, it’s possible that your TV picked up the wrong remote code. Follow the instructions here to try additional remote codes and find a match: support.roku.com/article/360004786894#section-2.

I contacted support and they did not do anything to resolve the issue. The remotes go out frequently and we have to unplug the devices and plug them back in order to get them to work again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
