I received a glitchy device. Eventually support agreed to warranty my Roku. I’ve had several Roku devices and this is the first time I’ve had any problem with one

Bought for the USB port

Needed to add a USB port to my TV. Originally tried a no-name Chinese media player, which was terrible. Got a Roku Ultra instead, and am very happy. Plays files from a flash drive flawlessly, and gives you the same style of captions as a Roku TV. Remote also controls TV and volume, which is nice.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The best streaming device

I've used Roku for years. I've also used Apple TV and of course the apps embedded in my smart TVs. I recently upgraded one of my older Roku Sticks to this latest Ultra. The sticks work great and in such a small package they are amazing for stand-alone TVs as an upgrade to just using the aps embedded in the TV and for travel. I upgraded to the Ultra for my main TV because I happen to have an ethernet cable at that location to improve network performance and remove one more WiFi device from my home and because I wanted to have all the latest sound options including Dolby Atmos. It's never really stated if the Apps in your smart TV support those sound options or not but I was finding that they typically do not even if the TV itself supports those options. (The attached receiver will tell you if it is receiving an Atmos signal.) The unexpected additional bonus is that this latest Ultra is blazingly fast. opening apps and performing searches is faster than any other device I have tried. Nice.
Finally, perhaps the best part of this Roku is that the search function does not prioritize its own app when you search for shows and movies (Apple and Amazon Fire). It also does not flood you with advertising (it is less intrusive than other systems). Roku has always been this way and the main reason I switched to Roku years ago.

Nice Upgrade

I have an older Sony TV that has a very nice screen but few inputs and an oversized and awkward remote(s). Adding a Roku Ultra has given it a new life. The Roku remote is a single point of control, the backlite buttons are a nice bonus. The performance when scolling through and launching apps is snappy and quick. No need to recycle this TV just yet!

Upgraded my Roku's

Previously had three 480x Ultras with wifi5. Only got sound through the rear surround speakers of my Samsung 990D sound bar when I would watch movies that specifically said "Dolby Atmos". With the new 485x Ultras with wifi6 I get sound from the rear speakers with all channels and programing even with older shows that I know were not remastered. I don't know what the difference is in the two Ultras technically, but would definitely recommend upgrading plus getting wifi6 streaming speeds!

Works great. Replaced a 1st generation Ultra. Works equally well or better than my first Ultra, thats why I wanted to update to a newer model.
