Be aware - You give up some things

Overall this is a great unit. However if you've have the previous Ultra unit, you give up the programmable remote buttons 1 and 2 (which I used for skip forward and back). Some of the branded co-marketing streaming buttons on the remote are different as well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The new Quick Launch rocket button can be customized to provide quick access to your favorite apps, settings, or voice commands, much like the previous programmable buttons 1 and 2. You can find detailed instructions on how to set it up here: https://support.roku.com/article/22070341297815.
Additionally, for quick navigation, you can use the purple “back” arrow or the replay button located above the fast forward button to skip backwards.

Great TV upgrade

I have a Roku embedded TCL in my office and started to notice the picture just didn't look great compared to our much more expensive Samsung in the family room.
Hooked up an Ultra, what a huge difference in picture quality and a big savings for an amazing picture.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great streaming player, BUT...

I have been very satisfied with my Ultra. It's fast, does what it needs to do, and has a nice remote. That said, there are a couple of negatives:
1. Shame on Roku for not putting a full gigabit ethernet port in their 2024 premiere model. It's still only 10/100 which, for the record, is 1995 vintage technology. What are you guys thinking? It makes a person wonder where else they're cutting corners.
2. Roku needs to stop messing with the menu. The reason people buy Roku is because you have a (virtually) ad-free launcher to quickly get to your content. Stop cluttering the page with stuff we don't want or need. Don't become like the others. Simplicity is your marketing edge.
