[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As soon as you pick this thing up you know its built well. It's heavier than it looks. But not so much that it's hard to use. It does cut fast. The only downside to it, like any other auto tightening tube cutter, is that it does squish the pipe more than doing it with a normal tubing cutter. Overall its worth buying if you are plumbing with copper all the time, and not just on rare occasions.

Great Tool

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] From the box its very simple to assmble in about 3 minutes. It fit all 5 of my various impact drivers. Comes with 1/2" and 3/4" cutter and simple to swap each. Cuts fast in about 3 or 4 revolutions

Job done for cuts

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very good product easy to install easy to cut very accurate cuts. 1/2 and 3/4 . I felt plastic was very fragile and if you use a Old or impact cell connection, not very accurate I would like the storage for the cutters very easy to lose, but it will do the job for cuts.

Great Pipe Cutter!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pipe cutter is amazing! It is a major help when cutting copper pipe which would be a huge benefit to plumbers and HVAC contractors. I do mainly electrical work but I do HVAC as well. These work great for cutting line sets.

DEWALT Impact Driver Attachment, Tubing Cutter

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used this tubing cutter on a recent HVAC job. The tubing cutter came with two (2) quick change cutting heads, 1/2” and 3/4”. We used both on a recent job. The tool has a bit of weight to it, any when coupled to the impact driver a little on the heavy side. Quickly found that when cutting the tubing it’s best to do so in a pipe vice or using slip joint pliers to hold the tubing, especially small pieces.
You do need to pretty much dedicate an impact driver to this tool. Switching back and forth between the cutter head and driving anchors for the pipe got old in a hurry. Changing the cutter heads was fast and easy, just pop the lever on the side of the cutter, the jaws spring open and the heads come right in and out. Cutting the tubing was very fast, takes about 3 seconds once the cutter is snapped onto the pipe. If you’re cutting a lot of pipe, it’s a time saver.
Pros: Cons:
Time saver if you have lots of cuts Ties up a driver
Fast cuts, especially overhead Need to use a pipe vice
Fast cutter head changes. Couldn’t find a 1” cutting head
A little on the heavy side

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used this to demo 1/2 copper lines in a basement. Right away you can tell that it has some weight and attached to the drill it’s even heavier but not too bad. I think it’s great that you can just slap this on a drill and leave the mounting brace on the tool when using your drill for other tasks. I think it’s also great that the cutting heads can be changed easily and you can use them to cut pipe by hand as well. I thought it was going to be funky to install and remove but It attaches and detaches from the drill very easily. If I had an extra drill I would dedicate a drill just for that.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really liked this cutter. As a plumber I’ve used a lot of copper cutters over the years including the red brand auto cutter. There were several issues with that one that are addressed in Dewalt’s version. The biggest being cutting 1/2” copper. The other would slip on the copper and not cut it however with the changeable heads used by Dewalt this problem is eliminated. These work just like any other auto tightening cutter but a tool does the work. The ability to change the heads in fantastic and easy. Just lift the tab and switch heads. They go in and come out easily. I was pleasantly surprised at how well this works. Because it’s not a lot bigger than the close cutters that it is based off of it fits in most of the same places as far as width goes. With the head able to pivot freely and lock in place with a set screw it is simple to find an angle that is both comfortable and works in most spaces. I’m really impressed with the design and thought that was put into this tool.
