Been grilling for 30 plus years, used to buy your product with out question, as it was the best. Not any more. The briquettes light about the same, but burn out way to fast. I know the reason for this is to make the consumer use and buy more charcoal. I have been using lump charcoal from Smart & Final and it works great. More heart and a much longer burn time.
Maybe if others follow suit Kingsford will put quality back into their brand instead of just money in their pockets.

Got a large grill for a wedding gift and have been grilling non-stop for months. There's just about nothing you can't grill with Kingsford Original. Brats, patties, steaks, summer sausage stuffed with sauerkraut and even vegetables (corn on the cob, asparagus, shish kabobs) all taste great with good smokey flavor. Never had a problem lighting them and they've always been a great value. Low-priced and you can find a bag just about anywhere.
This is the only charcoal I use, but I'm not sure for how much longer. It's getting way too expensive to use! I compete, smoke for friends and cater a little. I use a minimum of 15 twin packs a season.
