Good backpack for everyday use

The main reason for this backpack purchase was to have a good bag to carry my laptop around. I also needed something that would be good to carry whatever I might need when I travel and this backpack has it all. Good build and plenty of storage made this bag stand out to me. Other bags from other companies were not bad, but just did not offer what the Ogio Renegade RSS did. The laptop pocket has a nice safety system to make sure if the bag hits the floor, the laptop will not. Overall very happy with the purchase and will continue to buy Ogio bags for anything in the future.

Renegade RSS Laptop Backpack - 17" Laptop Still won't Fit!

I bought this model a couple of years ago because it was designed for 17" laptops and Ogio had a good reputation for quality. My 17" laptop will not fit in the padded laptop compartment. I can just barely fit it into the other large compartment but it's so tight, the corners wore through quickly. I like the way the case looks and I like all of the compartments so I have continued to use it.
Recently I received an email from Ogio with a promotional price on this model. Assuming that after 2-3 years, Ogio would have realized their mistake and corrected it, I went ahead and purchased it. The new bag is exactly like the one I purchased before. This is for a 17" laptop. I have two 17" laptops and still, neither one fits! Are you kidding me? After 2-3 years this model backpack will not fulfill it's main purpose?
This falls in the category of "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." So I guess this one is on me. I can assure you, there won't be a third one!

One big issue with the bag.

Why are the straps so short. If I was any bigger I couldn't use the bag. This is the only backpack that has straps this short that I can barely wear the thing.
Pros: quality
Cons: short straps

I'm an airline pilot so I kniw what makes good luggage.
This bag could use the addition of a re-inforced handle for towing behind a suitcase, and it could also use a re-inforced bottom, like thick canvass or carbon fiber, to protect against abrasion. And better material for the clasps, buckles etc.

I do not recommend the personalized version of this product. The quality is not good and gives the bag a juvenile look.
