It is a great appliance but it is quirky re: oil storage

I am really happy with the fryer. And I am impressed with fit and finish as well as the output. I am not thrilled by the quality of the documentation (it is almost useless), or the function of the much-touted and much-derided storage tank. I read the documentation, I am an engineer, and I still spilled the bloody oil. Luckily my wood countertops did not mind....
I am pleased with the rest of the appliance. And I will figure out a workaround so I don't have to feed my countertops every time I use the fryer.
Cooks great. The oil container is tricky because it does not lock on. It will make a mess if you’re not careful. Thankfully I read the reviews and avoided a mess myself.
Love the filtration system that stores used oil however the size of the unit is deceptive. The fry basket capacity/oil content is very shallow allowing improper cooking of thicker pieces of chicken. A lot of money to pay for a french fry cooker.
I love this thing. Easy to use, easy to drain, oil is secure in the drained area, and everything except the cord/control/element piece is fully washable.
My neighbor has this, told me not to purchase. Their complaint, inconsistent temp and it drizzles and leaks oil. Poor design. Said I'd be better off going to the box store and buying a store brand for 1/4 of the price. From reading these reviews, it seems to be others problems as well. I'm not opposed to AlClad, love the cookware, just concerned that there is a problem that hasn't been addressed
Love my new EZ Clean Pro Deep Fryer. Perfect size for my usage. My only negative so far is that the lid for the oil container isn't very tight and will easily pop off when pouring the oil back into the fryer, thus causing a BIG mess.
