Should there be a seal?

We used this product for the first time today. It leaked around the top. We don't see a seal. Should there be one?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best mug I've ever bought!!

Everyone in my family has one. I have 2. We have used them for years and I love them. I drive a bus and they never leak. My coffee stays hot my entire route. I use them for my ice water at home too. I have fallen asleep and woken up the next day to find it still full of ice. Worth every penny.

Tumbler is durable, and it keeps coffee hot for about 4 hours. A minor irritation is the lid hits your nose when drinking. The paint scratches and wears off after awhile, but that is true for any painted item, and the scratches make it _yours_. They make a stainless version if you are concerned about that. Overall I really like my Byron, it's one of the best vacuum sealed drink tumblers, cheaper than the Yeti and works just as well. Mine gets a lot use. I'd consider buying another if they redesign the lid to make more room for your nose.

Was thrilled with these until the seals decided to not stay sealed. I use two for work everyday. Nothing worse then when the seal decides to pop out of place and I get coffee all down the front of my shirt.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After much searching and borrowing, I finally found the thermos I have been looking for! I've spent many days looking througIh the cabinets at my work, looking into the cabinets at home, trying to mix and match lids with the right thermos. I finally have found what I was looking for. Very pleased with the design, the sturdy metal shell, and the leak-proof spout. Will definitely be purchasing this exact brand (possibly even this model) for life!

Best travel mug ever!

I am the type of person that likes their coffee HOT, this mug keeps it hot for hours. I also love the fact that it doesn't leak. If I drop it, I don't have to worry about getting coffee all over the place or spilling it if I knock it over. The only complaint I have is with the lid. Sometimes it is hard to snap it open & you have to clean the inside rim very well or it will get residue on the seal.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love the mug, not sure of the lid

I have a few of the original mugs with the original lids and absolutely love them. Recommend them hands down. But I got this mug yesterday, and not so sure about this lid (love the mug though, keeps cold things cold for a long time).. I feel like there isn't much of an indention in the lid and my nose feels like it's in the way (and I don't have a big nose). Because of that, I've dribbled some water trying to get use to it. I have no problem with the original lids with my nose. My lid also feels like it doesn't screw on so easily. I'm hoping that will get better with time.
