It doesn't leak and it keeps stuff hot but once you get that milk smell in the lid this is a garbage cup. Contigo you need to make better lids this is disgusting. I have two of these that unfortunately sat in the car overnight after a day trip with coffee and them and now they're just disgusting. I've sat both lids in baking soda and water for 3 days. Then in vinegar for 2 days. Then rubbing alcohol. I have pressure washed them. They still smell like rotten milk. It's disgusting. My Yeti has never had this problem at all ever.
The really sad part is I had to contigo cup about 15 years ago and it was the same problem. I actually forgot why I got rid of that cup until this happened. BB now I remember, don't buy these cups.

Hello Bob,
Thank you for your feedback on our SNAPSEAL™ Insulated Stainless Steel Travel Mug. We're sorry to hear about the odor issue you've encountered with the lids and understand how frustrating that must be, especially after trying multiple cleaning methods.
For best performance and product longevity, we do not recommend using our bottles or travel mugs with milk-based beverages, carbonated drinks, or pulpy beverages, as these contents can become trapped in lid components and may lead to persistent odors or affect product performance over time.
We appreciate your feedback regarding the lid design and understand your disappointment. Your feedback is important to us, and we will ensure it is handled appropriately.
If you require assistance, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us directly. You can do so via the 'Contact Us' form on our official website. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9am - 5pm Eastern Time.
My iced tea / water stays perfectly cold for my out of town trips and into the next day! I love the snap seal lid and the rubber grip - & it fits securely into cup holder in my vehicle. No leaks! Easy to hold - good ergonomics- while on the go and even during arthritis flareups.
20 oz.grey - The performance is not what I expected. 190° went down to 125° after 6 hours when left sealed on the counter at room temp. It keeps hot coffee WARM but not HOT. Perhaps I got a defective unit but the only claim I can see is "Will keep hot drinks hot for 7 hours" but that is not my experience. Quality seems OK but nothing special.

Hello! Thank you for sharing your experience with the SNAPSEAL™ Insulated Stainless Steel Travel Mug with Grip, 20 oz. We’re sorry to hear that the mug did not meet your expectations for keeping drinks hot over time. We understand how disappointing it is when performance does not match what was advertised.
Here are a few tips that may help maximize heat retention in insulated mugs: 1. Preheat the mug: Fill it with hot water for a few minutes before adding your beverage. This warms the interior and helps maintain temperature longer. 2. Keep the lid sealed tightly: Even small gaps can allow heat to escape more quickly. 3. Avoid opening frequently: Each time the lid is opened, heat escapes and reduces retention. 4. Fill closer to capacity: A fuller mug retains heat better than one that is only partially filled.

Bought this to replace the best travel cup I've ever owned, this one would be good if it didn't leak from the drink hole. Contigo really needs to remove the selling point that it is leak free when closed because that is actually false advertising. I would love a refund since I now have to replace this thing

Hello! Thank you for sharing your experience with the SNAPSEAL™ Insulated Stainless Steel Travel Mug with Grip, 20 oz. We’re sorry to hear that the mug is leaking from the drink hole and that it hasn’t met your expectations. We understand how frustrating this must be, especially when you purchased it to replace a trusted travel cup.
We take your feedback seriously and want to assist you. While the SNAPSEAL™ design is intended to provide a leak-free experience when properly closed, leaks can sometimes occur if the lid or seal is not seated correctly. Here are a few tips that may help: 1. Check the SNAPSEAL closure: Ensure the lid is fully pressed down until you hear or feel the snap. 2. Clean the seal area regularly: Residue or buildup around the drink opening can prevent a tight seal. 3. Avoid overfilling: Leaving a small space below the rim can reduce pressure on the seal and minimize leaks.
We recognize that these steps may not resolve your concern completely, and we want to make this right. To proceed with a possible solution, we kindly ask that you complete a warranty claim through our website. This will allow our team to review your case and provide the best resolution.

Bought this in the summer for cold drinks. Fogured it would be good for for my hot drinks in the winter. Not so. It keeps my drink hot, but ot alters the flavour of my tea so much I don't want to drink it. Don't know about coffe, but if you drink tea iced chai latte is fine hot, skip it. Go for glass or ceramic.

Hello! Thank you for sharing your experience with the SNAPSEAL™ Insulated Stainless Steel Travel Mug with Grip, 20 oz. We appreciate your honest feedback and are sorry to hear that while the mug keeps your drinks hot, it alters the flavor of your tea. We understand how disappointing this can be, especially when you expected it to serve well for both cold and hot beverages.
Here are a few tips that may help reduce flavor transfer in stainless steel mugs: 1. Pre-rinse with hot water: Before adding tea, rinse the mug with hot water to minimize metallic notes. 2. Avoid prolonged steeping inside the mug: Brew your tea separately and transfer it once ready, as steeping in stainless steel can intensify flavor changes. 3. Deep clean regularly: Use a mixture of baking soda and warm water or a vinegar rinse to remove lingering residues that may affect taste. 4. Dedicated use: Some consumers find it helpful to dedicate stainless steel mugs to coffee or cold drinks, while using glass or ceramic for teas.
We value your input and take your concerns seriously. To ensure we can assist you further, we encourage you to complete a warranty claim through our website. This will allow our team to review your case and provide the best possible resolution.

I have had my Contigo mug for over 8 years. I absolutely love it. I have bought others, but they always fall short. It’s starting to peel now. I’m so sad 😞
BRING BACK THE DATK PLUM! I absolutley love this travel mug. I replace it once a year as I use it practically everyday. Last year, I could not find the dark plum in 20 oz., so I decided to try the 16 oz version which did have the dark plum. I found that the 16oz. version, for whatever reason did not keep my tea warm the whole day like the 20 oz. Thankfully I kept my 20 oz. around and as beat up as it is and it still keeps my drink warmer for longer (although it's getting old and not painting temperature as well as it once did). I really want to replace it, but want the dark plum color. PLEASE , please bring it back. Or at least try a different purple, for us purple loving folk out there, we are a plenty.
Lid is poor design! I dropped it twice from waist height onto asphalt, it now how has a giant crack down the threading. It is now unusable, and you could sell replacement lids.
Anti-customer company. Cannot recommend.
