They keep my hot soup and tea hot and my water nice and cold. Ready to drink without spilling all over the front of me. Love that I can put it on my front car seat and not worrying that I'll have a wet seat next to me or it slipping out of my hands because the entire bottle is covered in condensation.

Absolute best travel mug ever!

We have purchased many of these, and they are great. They keep things hot and things cold. Absolutely love them! My husband works 12 hour days and I go to school and we use about 4-5 a day since they keep coffee hot and tea hot or cold. Great Product. I would give them 10 stars if I could!

Surprisingly poor lid

I want to like my Contigo Snapseal cup but I just can't. The shape and size is nice, it is surprisingly lightweight and yet the steel thickness feels durable. It insulates my beverages keeping things hot or cold.
The problem is that the lid, the part that you interact with directly, is poorly designed. It is difficult to drink hot beverages because of the location of the opening and the shape and depth of the rim of the lid. The configuration of the lid places the hole right where your top lip naturally rests which is why some people here complain about burns on their top lip.

For comparison lets first refer to the famous solo coffee lid (or Starbucks lid) to see how the lip and hole placement should be. The solo lid has a thick rim with the pour hole placed on the top edge, there is a depression which allows for the top lip to comfortably rest. This placement allows for a seal of the lips around the hole and giving the user the ability to "slurp" some air to cool a hot beverage while drinking.
The Snapseal lid could be improved by making the rim of the lid taller and more skinny where the lips rest. This would put the pour hole further from the mouth and allow for a drinking experience more similar to a traditional lidless mug or cup. I consider this the easier solution for the snapseal design. Refer to the attached Thermos patent drawing to see how the height and girth of the drinking rim allows for a more natural and comfortable drinking experience. Refer to second diagram for an example of a taller skinnier rim.
Alternatively the lid design could be improved by placing the pour hole at the top edge of the rim allowing the lips to seal around the hole. This is more difficult for the snapseal design.

Leaks horribly!!!

The gasket inside the lid fell out within 4 months. Placed it back in place but now the cup leaks horribly. Every time...

Awesome product with a couple issues

Awesome product but I now can't use it after washing the lid in my dish washer, the rubber ball seal that locks the opening to prevent leaking came loose and disappeared into my dishwasher. I can't find a replacement part for it and leaves this one as no more than any other home mug. Will not purchase again
