Great for 2 months, then the seal stopped working!

Bought 2 of these mug a couple months ago and loved, loved, LOVED them! No leaks! liquid stays HOT for a very long time as promised! And of course...Dishwasher safe! I rushed back to the store to buy 2 more. Then all of a sudden, 1 by 1 the seals started to leak. I found that if I dried the parts thoroughly, that I was able to correct the problem for a short period of time. At this point, we also started hand washing the mugs, since we thought maybe the heat could be causing an issue. Now, they leak even though we are hand washing them, and even if the parts are dried thoroughly.
To elaborate on the problem, the hole in the lid where you drink from does not leak...but the seal where you screw the lid on is what is leaking. I kept thinking I was doing something wrong, but in visiting this site, I see that there are others having the same problem. It seems to be a performance flaw.

I adore my Contigo Snapseal~I haven't spilled coffee in my car or on my desk since the day it arrived on my doorstep! My hubby loves his Snapseal because it keeps his coffee hot for hours and hours. He makes a cup before bed and it's still hot the next morning when he wakes up!

I really like these bottles. I like they don't leak. I like they keep things hot/cold. It is a little snug for me to open, but I have a crooked thumb. Maybe n time it will loosen up. Thank you for making these.

I am lucky to get two hours. Does not stay hot. It isn't cold but certainly far from even very warm.

Wonderful insulation, but leaks

I was initially excited by this product as it does keep tea hot for several hours. However it leaks unless held completely upright (and often leaks when I'm tilting the mug to drink).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have purchased other contigo products in the past and have been very happy with them. However, this particular model has a small plastic/silicone(?) stopper to seal the opening. Be advised the stopper does not stay on and you must be vigilant to check and ensure it has not fallen into the cup before you take any remaining contents and toss them down the sink along with the stopper. We purchased two of these mugs and had the same trouble with both of them. Not only that, I have been advised by contigo that you cannot purchase just the stopper. Rather, you must purchase the entire lid at a cost of $6.00 which is a terrible waste as there is nothing wrong with the rest of the lid/product. As I said above I have purchased contigo products in the past based on the features of being spill-proof and retaining their temperature properties. I will continue to use the other versions, however cannot recommend this particular product.
