Lid totally stinks. Unsanitary.

It doesn't leak and it keeps stuff hot but once you get that milk smell in the lid this is a garbage cup. Contigo you need to make better lids this is disgusting. I have two of these that unfortunately sat in the car overnight after a day trip with coffee and them and now they're just disgusting. I've sat both lids in baking soda and water for 3 days. Then in vinegar for 2 days. Then rubbing alcohol. I have pressure washed them. They still smell like rotten milk. It's disgusting. My Yeti has never had this problem at all ever.
The really sad part is I had to contigo cup about 15 years ago and it was the same problem. I actually forgot why I got rid of that cup until this happened. BB now I remember, don't buy these cups.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love my Contigo travel mug!

My iced tea / water stays perfectly cold for my out of town trips and into the next day!
I love the snap seal lid and the rubber grip - & it fits securely into cup holder in my vehicle.
No leaks!
Easy to hold - good ergonomics- while on the go and even during arthritis flareups.

Terrible open design

I did like the design of this container. I don’t like that it’s hard to open. I also dislike that it sprays coffee everywhere I do open the top. It wasn’t worth paying for, now I have to Spend more money buying another coffee cup

My tea stays warm but paint is coming off after Contigo claims the cup is dishwasher safe. Also, the rubber ring band around lid eventually comes off and is impossible to get back on.
