Well as stated I live on a farm with many limbs that need occasional trimming, I as most everyone purchased this Skil 16 inch bar chainsaw not knowing anything about a battery powered chainsaw. I use this chainsaw to cut limbs for about 15 minutes on limbs up to 8 inches in diameter, this saw cut with as much p0wer as my Homelite gas powered chainsaw. It used on the battery scale one bar . In my estimate the battery would probably last 45 minutes to a hour like I used it. (For the best part, unlike my gas chainsaw, it started every time) LOL

I liked at first and after cutting small branches I moved on to the thicker ones it wasn’t reliable the chain got rewind and I have to replace it with different brand name. All this happened on the second day of my purchases.otherwise, I liked the battery it’s very powerful!

A very affordable great tool. The variable speed trigger provides excellent speed control for the brushless motor. The charging station is air cooled via a built in fan and provides a quick 15 minute charge.

However, the battery life, at variable or full speed, lasts 1 hour. It takes another hour for full charge. There is no lag time during the 1 hour battery function. The battery ceases to function exactly at 1 hour of uninterrupted use.
The variable speeds enables one to work in close quarters around young trees, and shrubs - protecting the stem.
