Pretty but wonky design

When creating new ice, water runs through the tank melting the ice that's there.

Ice is perfect but machine is NOISY at times

Ice machine makes excellent ice. However machine makes very loud squealing noises a few times a day.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Awesome Countertop Ice Maker

The GE Profile Ice Maker w/Side Tank (OPAL01GENKT) meets all of my requirements. Easy setup and operation. Total documentation available online. Produces more than ample nugget ice. Though larger than many other models, it fit nicely on the counter next to the sink, promoting ease of filling and maintenance. A quality product capable of extended, reliable service.

My Favorite Ice maker Ever!!

My parents first bought this ice maker a while ago and then had an under the counter one put in, so I got to use theirs for a week and then we took it to our lakehouse.... I loved it so much I had to buy one myself after using it all day everyday during that week. It makes the perfect amount of ice per day and quickly. It's the perfect height for a countertop and looks aesthetically pleasing as well.

I love this ice maker

I would have given it a 5 star, but the button does not do what it says. I press it for 3 seconds to dim the light and it does not dim and if I keep trying then the machine shuts off, and when turned back on starts running water again over my full ice bin to make more ice. I had to leave the light burring full bright all night in my kitchen. and even when I hit the button once it does not come on right away.

Good looking and good ice

Finally my opal GE ice maker arrived. Machine is really heavy and looks nice. After cleaning, ice nuggets start dropping into bin within 20 minutes. Enjoying my drink right now. Excellent machine.
