Review after 6 months use ! better alt products

Ice maker was a great thing when installed however about 6 months old I started to hear different sounds which have gotten worse to the point it’s irritating and would rather not try to use. They’re not worth the money if they don’t last longer than a half of a year and I’m OCD with maintenance on my machine due to immo comprimised family member.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love the soft nugget ice!

We really love the ice that is produced since I eat soft ice daily. It produces enough ice too.
This is our third Opal 0.1 and only down side is the other 2 lasted just about 1 year. They produce a black film or oil and second one just stopped. I love the ice so much that we got another machine with an extended warranty! We use filtered water and don’t have an issue with hard water. We clean it 1-2 weeks too. Hopping this one will last several years!!

Great Icemaker!

It makes great soft, chewable, ice. The side reservoir is a tremendous upgrade, but it would be even better if there was a way to fill it from the top. It's a little louder than I would like, but I can live with that! If the ice compartment was more substantial, the ice wouldn't melt a little bit overnight. It refreezes a little bit, and has to be broken up in the morning, resulting in crunchier ice rather than soft chewable ice, but it's not too bad.

I absolutely love this ice maker. Love the nugget size. Great for margaritas, soft drinks, ice tea or a nice gold glass of water. My adult granddaughters love their Opals also. This ice maker made great gifts.
