Great ice... for a few months :(

This worked great... for a few months. It stopped working three months after we purchased it. It would continue to make ice, but then the ice would melt, and the ice tray was never filled. I meticulously followed every step on GE's website, including 2 bottles of de-scaler and running vinegar through it. If you'd like a really expensive ice maker for a short-term, this is the one for you. If you need an ice maker for the long haul, I'd find something different.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is my second opal icemaker. It seems that it has not improved even with the second water storage container. It doesn’t draw water from it.
