It surprise me it's so easy to set up even going through the first cleaning cycle to clean the dust out of it I guess that was quite easy to do too so nice looking machine looks really nice on the counter and it went to making ice is almost as soon as I turn the switch to ice I love this

Wonderful ice maker

Absolutely love this machine. I would not settle for these other models that claim they do what this machine does because they don’t. My whole family loves this type of ice and so do several of my friends and I always have to make sure I have plenty of ice for get together a and this machine never disappoints.

I read some reviews prior to purchasing our ice maker that complained of the noise. I think, perhaps, that they are comparing it to an ice maker in a freezer, which is insulated and so is relatively quiet. I do not find the noise level to be intrusive and the quality of the nugget ice more than makes up for the noise. We love our. We have had it for 2 months, as of this writing. When you use a lot of ice, make sure to check the water level, as per the user manual, to not allow the water basin to get too low. If it does, the Opal gets very noisy, which is great because its warning you that you are about to burn up your pump. I hope you enjoy your crunchy, chewable ice, like I do!!

Only had it a month and it stops working weekly. I use bottled water so it isn’t hard water. No reason for it continued breaking.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We love the Opal 1 ice maker. The nugget ice is the way to go. I bought two units, one for our home and the other for my son's home. I will give to him as a Christmas gift. The unit is very pretty and is welcome addition to our kitchen.
