Reasonable setup, rinse and initial use instructions. Made a hopper full of ice in a few hours. Good quality.

Issues after only a few months

When this ice maker works, it’s great. Unfortunately we’re having issues after only 7 months. We do have hard water in our area, but we have a water softener, oxidizer, and reserve osmosis system that the water passes through before putting it into the ice maker. We also do the cleaning process routinely. Currently the ice maker just has a “swinging” blue light and won’t make any ice. For the amount you pay for this ice maker, these problems should never happen so soon. Very disappointed in this purchase…
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Don't Buy Without the Extended Warranty

Despite using demineralized water and cleaning on schedule, this ice maker really only lasts 1-2 years. While it works, it's good but there are no replacement parts to be had anywhere. When the unit is done, it's done and then it's off to the landfill.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fantastic ice, and you must clean weekly

This makes fantastic nugget ice (5 star ice). Easily chewable nuggets like Sonic. I removed 1 star because you have to spend 30 minutes a week cleaning and bleaching the unit or the ice will stink. And yes, I'm only using filtered water. I follow the cleaning process as shown in the manual which includes bleach, and filling and draining water to perform lots of rinse cycles.
I would recommend this to a friend!
