great looking. low quality parts

had unit about 7 years. after year 3 microwave started acting up. poor service guy had take it apart 3 times. now microwave turntable won't stop spinning unless door is open. another cheap sensor broken? sadly the oven and controls work perfectly and it's still a very attractive appliance. but have started looking for replacement. shocking how high priced are. 5K for an oven and microwave??
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Electrical Hazard

The microwave portion of my unit started making an intermittent “sizzling” electrical noise. This gradually got worse and then the unit made a loud pop and ceased to function. Clearly, there is a severe electrical malfunction that occurred. In reading the previous reviews, it seems this is not an isolated problem.

Microve is peeling on the inside started bubbling on the surface now completely peeled. There should be a recall or replacement for this microwave, totally unsafe, as per numerous reviews.

Micro peel

The microwave is a disaster - has been peeling inside for years, but now it's showing up in the food or drinks we use. The oven is OK, is it possible to switch out the top microwave or does it all have to be replaced "in kind"?

We do not recommend continued use with the roof peeling. In regards to switching the microwave, since this model is a dual unit, there isn't a way to switch out just one component. The quality is terrible, with paint peeling and falling from the microwave's ceiling. GE should seriously consider recalling this product. It's a huge disappointment from a brand that used to be reliable.

Great looks, oven works well.Microwave not so much

Oven and microwave both worked fine initially. The microwave now has paint peeling all over the insides as well as an inoperative turntable. We obviously cannot use it. Quite a disappointment... especially since the microwave cannot be replaced separately.

Dangerous Melted inside ceiling

I have the exact same problem with this model, the inside top of microwave has melted away and there is exposed metal behind what used to be there. Please contact me about this safety issue!
