Chipping and bubbling paint

Hello. This combo unit worked well for us over that past couple of years but the paint in the microwave is bubbling and chipping. I have never had this happen before and believe this is a GE manufacturer defect. To make matters worse I just read that it can NOT be repaired and the entire combo unit (including the convection oven) must be replaced! This is terrible news as the replacement will be expensive. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Paint Chip off in microwave

This is one of the most expensive units of all our appliances in the kitchen but made of very poor quality. Microwave's roof paint is chipping off and most likely falling into food we are trying to cook. I am losing confidence in heating anything in this microwave and on top of it, it just stopped working since last one week. The motor runs but nothing heats up inside the microwave. Very expensive unit built with poor quality of materials and unreliable performance. I would appreciate if you can address this problem.

Microwave power problem, chipped-bubbling interior

I have Model # PT970SR3SS Serial # ZZ608731Q combination microwave and oven unit. Oven works, microwave has a serious problem. Keeping turned off at the breaker (so can't use oven either) because it gets EXTREMELY hot inside, specifically on the floor of the microwave without the microwave running, even if microwave door is open. Turned breaker back on, microwave came on and arced. At first it stopped while running and the keypad would not work when tried to turn back on, then it spontaneously turned itself on. Extreme safety hazard. Have been pleased until this happened except for a required fuse replacement. My home warranty company (One Guard-Texas) was told the whole unit would have to be replaced when they contacted you.
We found that GE has had numerous similar complaint about this unit. Please advise me about remediation by GE, since this seems to be an inherent problem and this unit is no longer for sale.
Note: light not on in picture because breaker off. Also when I tried to register at your service site, a pop up blocked the password verification box (says this is a strong password), so unable to register there.

Paint flaking and rusting inside microwave

I would give 0 stars if I could. I am very upset that my microwave has paint peeling and areas that are rusted!!! I really dont want paint or rust in my family's food!!! I've seen 20 year old microwaves not look like this one!! And Unfortunately because its attached to my oven (which is also not heating correctly!!!) Its not easy to run out and replace them. Also it matches all my other kitchen appliances. Even the paint on microwave door is coming off where the glass turning plated has rubbed it. I've also had my oven door lock several times and while locked it heats up so hot I was terrified my house was going to catch fire!! Maybe that's why the microwave paint is peeling, from that heat from the oven. Now I dont think my oven is keeping the correct temperature either. Nothing is baking like it used too.

Expensive and doesn't live up to the cost

The microwave section has been repaired 5 times and still fails to work after the latest issue. The oven now stopped worked. Product is 12 years old from date of manufacture.

10 years that's it.

Just hit year 10 and the microwave made a loud snap and is now blown. Have to replace the WHOLE unit. Even the oven, which still works fine. These are not sold separately.
