Worked well but after 11 years had to be replaced.

We got this model when we remodeled our kitchen in 2013. It served us well for nearly 12 years. This morning my wife was wiping down the inside of the microwave and white paint began sloughing off the inside ceiling. She was using a damp microfibre cloth. Online research recommends replacing the unit because when the paint starts to go.... Anyway, we can't just replace the microwave portion of the built in 30" microwave/oven combo. It turns out that you have to replace the entire unit. Even though the oven continues to work fine. Finding a replacement and hiring someone to install it is proving to be a bit of chore.

Microwave paint flaking off

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, this has been a great product for roughly 10 years. Now the microwave inside paint is peeling off in flakes making it unsafe to use. I do not recommend this product as even though it is functional, it’s not safe. And to top it off I cannot just replace the microwave as it’s integrated with the oven.

Due to the issue you're having, we do recommend replacing the unit. A great replacement option is model PT9900SWSS since it has very similar dimensions and is also a microwave/oven combination unit.
