Bought it used once and then tried to clean oil, sorry to say does not make it easy at all. Makes a mess all over as it leaks if you fill it to max and then food doesn't sit in basket properly if not maxed out to top level.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This device CANNOT achieve temperatures above ~330 degrees even when set to the max temp of 374 degrees. So false specifications from my testing.

Best home deep fryer on the market

I’ve had this unit for about 6 months now and I use it once or twice a week. It’s one of the best tools in my kitchen. The oil filtration and management system is so clever, it’s a breeze to clean up, it stores the oil, there’s no smell and it’s so easy to manage.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bought this believing it was a good deep fryer - apparently all of these so called "expert reveiw mobs" don't know what the hell they are talking about.
Aside from the sides getting VERY HOT to the point of potentially causing burns, the steam outlet being ontop of the fryer creating a dangerous situation and did cause my hand/wrist to be burnt. The thing also does not keep the set temperature and; therefore, will not cook properly as a result. Now it has developed even MORE SERIOUS problems.
The last time I used it, to cook frie's, it only half cooked them because it would not retain the set temperature. Tonight I tried cooking more fries and even though the "temp gauge" indicated the thing was up to temp (the temp light going off) - the oil was stone dead COLD and did not heat! You don't need to be Einstien to realise that after only 3 uses - the heating element died or what ever causes the heating element to heat died. Oh, and I forgot, the way the plug connects to the thing is worse than third rate it will not stay positively connected - it too is positively dangerous.
Bottom line, this is an overpriced, sub standard, worse than poorly made piece of garbage and is not worth $1 let alone the amount being demanded. Save your money and buy something other than a T-Fal anything. Spend your money on a reliable, trustworthy company.

Best deep fryer

I’ve had this deep fryer for quite sometime years to be exact. I’ve not had one issue with this deep fryer. It’s the best deep fryer I’ve ever owned. I’ve fried everything from chicken to seafood in it and all comes out excellent.
I would recommend this to a friend!

To the point - this deep fryer is average at best due to the following things:
1. It takes half an hour to heat up to 350F
2. It does not hold it's temp at all and therefore does not cook well
3. The exterior gets very hot
4. The steam outlet is dangerous when needing to adjust temps etc
5. It takes over an hour to cool down to any reasonable temperature

I would not waste my money on this product and will be looking at a Presto Deep Fryer instead, desppite this T Fal being only a few weeks old for us.
