Great display piece

Looks great once completed, but pretty boring and fast build as there is a ton of repetition to the build. Creative how the sections connect for easy moving around. Not my favorite build, but still a pretty cool look once completed.

Disappointing Build

I am a Lego fanatic and own just about every adult set on the market. My kids grew up playing with Legos. So, for me to give a set that is potentially as awesome as the Eiffel tower a bad review, well it must be pretty bad. The set is very monotonous to build, extremely repetitive, and exceptionally fragile. Not what you would expect from a build like this. Eiffel is screaming in his grave! I honestly did not enjoy this build. With all of that said, it is an impressive structure. It's huge and therein lies another problem. How do you display something this large? (And fragile) As much as it pains me to say, I cannot recommend this set to anyone but the most dedicated Eiffel tower fan.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I finally caved into buying this after knowing the sheer size of this, but I did not expect how much room it would actually take. The build itself was heavily repetitive and I was looking forward to it. I would highly recommend this set to collectors and those who have the room for it. I would not recommend buying this set if you don't have any space for it or don't like very tedious sets.

My thoughts on this set are much like the thoughts of many, many others: nearly-unparalleled as a display piece, a miserable tedium of a build experience.
None of that should come as any surprise. I mean, it's a five foot tall model of the Eiffel. Of COURSE it's great as a display piece (assuming, of course, that you know where you're putting it and have the space for it: it has a beefy footprint and the height is no joke). It's a stunner, especially from a distance. Imposing, elegant, and attractive. From that perspective, this set is a 5 out of 5.
But ooof, that build. Repetitive, dull, monotonous. It is not fun - or at least, I didn't have any fun with it. The base isn't so bad, but after that, get ready for the same steps repeated dozens upon dozens of times, using the same fiddly little bits. It was hours of tedium and I didn't enjoy it at all.
Does the destination justify the journey? Up to you to decide. For me...maybe? I'm glad to have it done and in my office, but I'm also glad it's finished and would never willingly repeat the process.
Still, you have to admire the chutzpah of a set like this. Lego went and gave us a 10,000 piece monster of a model and it looks absolutely fantastic when it's done. In the end, as a serious Lego fan, this set was an inevitability. Like Mallory and his mountain, I built this because it was there.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] [Employee of lego-global] This set takes up a lot of space and requires a lot of time to put together. I did not anticipate either and now the unfinished set is in storage. I hope to pull it out and build it one day…but I definitely need the space for it. Do not buy if you have pets or children who run around! This thing is super fragile and will break apart if you aren’t careful around it. It is a beautiful piece and glad that I got it.

This set did get to me mentally sometimes due to the repetitiveness but overall it's an excellent set and a great display piece! It also makes a good Christmas tree:)
