Powerful Trimmer but String Feeder is Terrible

I've had this trimmer for two full seasons now so don't think I haven't tried to work with this thing. I have several other 60V tools and I like them all (although the blower is starting to fade). But the trimmer has a bad design for the string head.
1) Loading it is extremely tedious and difficult. (Yes, I've watched all the videos and read the manual. I'm doing it the right way.). Other trimmers use replaceable spools that are quickly swapped out. This unit does not. You have to take off the head, thread the new string, and slowly wind it onto the spool using a very stiff twisting motion.
2) The bump head to feed more string works badly when it works at all. When it does bump, it plays out too much string, which is immediately clipped off and lost forever. Many many times I've bumped the head, and no string was fed out. Very frustrating.
I really like my Greenworks 60V mower and blowier, but this tool is just too badly designed. Get another brand an save yourself a lot of frustration.

I Gave Up

Maybe it’s me, but re-stringing this thing is impossible. I’ve watched videos, taken extra care, cursed it, and whatever else I can think of, but it’s difficult and still won’t dispense string correctly for any length of time. I have several other Greenworks tools, so hate to have to switch but I need a practical string tool, and this ain’t it.
Pros: Quiet, Environmentally Safe, Powerful
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

too hard to re-string!

Had to throw it in the garbage after one use, impossible to re-string!

Awesome trimmer and super quiet the 2.5 Ah battery should last a long time. I only use it in speed 1 and not even full speed in. I trim and edge my whole property and the battery doesn't ever drop one bar.
